You've held it together for a long time... It's okay to put it down.
Many of my clients are high-functioning professionals who are successful on the outside and quietly exhausted on the inside. Whether you are navigating trauma, recovering from narcissistic abuse or carrying anxiety that just won't let go, this is a place where your experience is believed, honored and gently worked through.
Using S.A.F.E. EMDR and a deeply personalized approach, we go beneath the surface. Because you deserve more than coping strategies

Remember, therapy takes time
and it’s okay to go at your own pace.
At Davidson Counseling, we believe that healing is not one size fits all. Our practice was built on the understanding that the people who walk through our door are carrying real, complex histories that deserve more than surface level support. We integrate evidence-based approaches like S.A.F.E. EMDR with genuine empathy and whole-person care. Because you deserve a space where you are truly seen, believed and supported.
Corporate Trauma and Workplace Stress
When the pressure at work feels like something older and deeper than just a bad job, there is a reason. High-demand environments reactivate wounds that started long before your career did.
Narcissistic Abuse Recovery
You are not too sensitive. You are not the problem. If you have spent months or years doubting your own reality, what happened to you has a name and your story will be believed here.
Grief and Loss
Grief does not follow a timeline and it does not always look like sadness. Whether you are mourning a person, a relationship or a version of yourself, this is a place to grieve.
Anxiety and PTSD
Anxiety is rarely just anxiety. Often it is the nervous system trying to protect you from something it learned to fear a long time ago. Together we work to understand it, not just manage it
OCD and Panic Attacks
The intrusive thoughts, the moments where your body takes over before your mind catches up. These experiences are real and treatable and you do not have to navigate them alone.
Self-Esteem and Identity
We provide a supportive environment for individuals to explore their beliefs about themselves, challenge negative self-perceptions, and cultivate a stronger sense of self-worth and identity.
S.A.F.E. EMDR
S.A.F.E. (Somatic Attachment Focused) EMDR is a gentle, trauma-informed approach that blends traditional EMDR with body awareness and attachment-focused support.
The process emphasizes safety and grounding, helping clients feel supported and in control before and during deeper work. This makes it especially helpful for those who have experienced long-term stress, trauma, or relationship challenges. If you’re curious whether this approach is right for you, we invite you to reach out and learn more.

Meet Genie Davidson
I am, in the truest sense, a wounded healer. Trauma has been a constant companion in my life since a very young age and it has been a relentless teacher. I don't sit across from you with a clipboard and clinical distance. I sit across from you as someone who knows what it is to suffer and to find a way through.
"I know what it is to need help and not know where to start. If you're here, something in you is ready. That's enough."

Additionally, I have been living in Northwest Arkansas since 1998, and have an understanding of the complex and often unique stressful circumstances individuals experience while working for local corporations. When not counseling. you will find me at local eateries, hiking the beautiful NWA trails, reading, writing, traveling, and dog-cuddling.
Timmie the trauma therapist. Timmie is a spirited, proud rescue dog hailing from Missouri, and is a wonderful companion to me and a sensitive therapist. Timmie loves long walks, and lots of belly rubs. He loves to chase rabbits in the backyard and his favorite thing to do is to come with me to work and sit on the laps of my clients as they process their grief and emotions.
