Remember, therapy takes time
and it’s okay to go at your own pace.
At Davidson Counseling, we understand the complexity of the human mind and the journey towards mental wellness. Our mission is to provide compassionate and personalized psychotherapy services to support individuals, couples, and families in navigating life's challenges.
We believe in a holistic approach to mental health, integrating evidence-based therapeutic techniques with empathy and understanding. Our desire is to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Anxiety and Depression
We provide a supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings while learning practical strategies to manage symptoms. Through therapy, individuals can gain insight, build resilience, and find hope for a brighter future
Trauma and PTSD
We offer a safe and supportive environment for individuals to process painful memories, reduce symptoms of distress, and regain a sense of safety and control. Through evidence-based techniques like cognitive processing therapy or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), clients can gradually heal from traumatic experiences and reclaim their lives.
Relationship Issues
We provide a safe and neutral environment for couples or individuals to address communication barriers, resolve conflicts, and deepen emotional connection. With proper guidance, clients learn effective strategies to strengthen their relationships and cultivate greater understanding and intimacy.
Grief and Loss
A compassionate space for individuals to navigate the complex emotions of mourning, explore the meaning of their loss, and find ways to honor the memory of their loved one is provided here. With the support of a therapist, clients can gradually find acceptance, build resilience, and integrate their loss into their lives in a meaningful way.
Stress Management
We equip individuals with practical tools and techniques to effectively cope with life's challenges and reduce the impact of stress on their mental and physical well-being. By learning relaxation techniques, time management skills, and healthy coping strategies, clients can regain a sense of control and improve their overall quality of life.
Self-Esteem and Identity
We provide a supportive environment for individuals to explore their beliefs about themselves, challenge negative self-perceptions, and cultivate a stronger sense of self-worth and identity. Through introspection and guided reflection, clients can discover their unique strengths, values, and aspirations, empowering them to live authentically and confidently.
Therapy isn't just talking - It's about using what you learn to make your life better.
Meet Genie Davidson
My journey to becoming a psychotherapist has been anything but straightforward. Trauma has been a constant companion in my life starting from a very young age and continuing to adulthood. This trauma has been a relentless teacher to me in big and small ways, forcing me to confront myself through my own therapy and rebuild myself from the ground up. It was during my healing journey that I discovered EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), and dove deeply into my trauma. Inspired by my personal experience I feel passionate about helping others navigate the complexities and difficulties of their lives.
Utilizing talk therapy, EMDR, art therapy, and other modalities, I help clients navigate their struggles and help them find relief that eluded me for so long. The techniques I use do not skim the surface but delve deeply into the heart of trauma. I work with clients who also experience narcissistic abuse, OCD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.
Additionally, I have been living in Northwest Arkansas since 1998, and have an understanding of the complex and often unique stressful circumstances individuals experience while working for local corporations. When not counseling. you will find me at local eateries, hiking the beautiful NWA trails, reading, writing, traveling, and dog-cuddling.
Timmie the trauma therapist. Timmie is a rescue dog who boasts from Missouri, and is a wonderful companion to me and a sensitive therapist. Timmie loves long walks, and lots of belly rubs. He loves to chase rabbits in the backyard and his favorite thing to do is to come with me to work and sit on the laps of my clients as they process their grief and emotions.
